Flute, Piccolo & Recorder Lessons
Ms. Kelsey has been playing flute for over fifteen years and holds a bachelor's degree in flute performance from Brigham Young University. Her recent performance experience has been with the Rexburg Tabernacle Orchestra and the Idaho Falls Symphony. Throughout her years of teaching she has helped numerous students successfully audition for all-state band and community youth orchestras as well as achieve superior ratings in Solo & Ensemble and other festival competitions. She is a current member of the Utah Flute Association and serves as their education coordinator. She encourages her students to participate in this great organization and the events and competitions they sponsor. She accepts students age 5 and older, with students under the age of six beginning with six months to a year of recorder lessons. Ms. Kelsey believes that scales and arpeggios are fundamental building blocks that must be emphasized. As a classically trained flutist, she has all her students explore this repertoire, but she is also open to all styles of music!
